Pre purchasing seats

Jan 23, 2015

I just paid for some seats for the show!  I say "seats", because we won't have actual tickets.  Click on the link and it will take you to the BCP website, call Amy Moser at the # listed and you can pay for your seats there.  There will be a list at the front desk of who has prepaid, and the night of the performance you just tell them your name and go right in!

What to expect for opening night:

Wow! We are finally here! I first want to say that I really appreciate all the work that everyone (including parents) have put into this. We have a great show, and I'm really excited for opening night. Here are a few reminders to make sure everything goes flawlessly:

Very Important: Please remember the no cell phone or other electronic devices policy. Electronic devices can interfere with our sound system, so please, please, please just leave your electronic devices home during the run of our show.  If we see cast members using electronic devices during the run of the show, we reserve the right to confiscate them and release them back to a parent only!

Sea Creatures:  You will be meeting over at the city building at 7:00 pm. Please go directly to the city building--you'll be meeting upstairs from the library, and we'll have signs posted to make sure you know where to go. Please arrive at 7:00 pm. Julie Coles will begin your cast call at 7:10 pm. You should arrive with your makeup and hair done and your costume on.

Ursula and her tentacles:  You will be in the boys dressing room (but don't worry, we won't be letting the boys dress in there during the show). Please remember to keep very quiet: bring a book to read or a picture to color. You will be right underneath the apron, so you'll need to keep very quiet.

Sea Gulls:  You will also be staying in the dressing rooms of the Nuart. Again, come prepared to quietly entertain yourselves.

Core Cast:  You will meet in the dressing rooms--again, please keep quiet, and remember NO ELECTRONICS!  and PLEASE be attentive to your prop/set moving responsibilities!

Chefs (excluding Carl Fisk who is Core Cast): You will meet at the city building at 7:00 for cast call at 7:10 pm. Plan to have makeup, hair, and costume on and ready to go.  You will come over to the Nuart at Intermission, and you'll just stay at the Nuart after that.

Dress Rehearsal Attendance Policy

Attendance Policy

I really am hoping to see 100% attendance for all three dress rehearsals (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). That said, I will continue to review excused absences on a case by case basis. However, I want to give you fair warning that for the most part, if you are absent during a dress rehearsal, and I ask an understudy to fill in for you, I'm going to allow the understudy to perform in your place on one of the performance nights. So, if you are absent during one of the dress rehearsals, you may only get to perform five nights instead of six. I feel this is fair because throughout rehearsals, I have had understudies that I feel have put in as much work as the regular cast in attending extra rehearsals and filling in for various parts. These understudies have worked hard, but they are not currently going to get to see any performance time for their efforts. Therefore, if during dress rehearsal an understudy has to fill in for a role, I feel it is fair for the understudy to get some stage time.

Updated January Rehearsal Schedule...

First, I want to thank everyone for working so hard to make this show fantastic! I'm really pleased to see the progress we've made on our lines, singing, and dancing. The show is looking really good. Because everything is going so well, I'm making some minor adjustments to our January schedule. Basically, the changes will be that I'm now hoping we can run through Act II twice on Wednesday and then skip the Friday rehearsal completely. Also, I'm planning that we can skip the morning rehearsal on Saturday, and just do an afternoon rehearsal that day. So, the following UPDATED JANUARY REHEARSAL SCHEDULE reflects those changes:

Tuesday, January 6th at 4:30 pm
Run Act One of the play. FULL CAST needs to attend this rehearsal (with the exception of the chefs and Carlotta who have no scenes on Act One).

Wednesday, January 7th at 4:15 pm
Chefs need to arrive at 4:15 pm to run their scene. FULL CAST can arrive at 4:30 pm. We will run TWICE through all of Act Two. Sea creatures will need to stay for the entire first run through, but they can leave after Kiss the Girl in the second run through. As long as we are able to get through it twice, we won't have to rehearse on Friday, January 9th.

Thursday, January 8th at 4:30 pm
Fine tuning the choreography on Under the Sea and Kiss the Girl; if you are not involved in either of those numbers, you do not have to attend this rehearsal.

Friday, January 9th.  AS LONG AS WE ARE ABLE TO RUN THROUGH ACT TWO TWICE ON WEDNESDAY, THERE WILL BE NO REHEARSAL ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 9TH. IF THIS IS TO CHANGE, I WILL ANNOUNCE IT ON WEDNESDAY AT THE REHEARSAL AND UPDATE IT ON THE BLOG WEDNESDAY EVENING. IF BY FRIDAY YOU ARE STILL SEEING THIS NOTICE, THEN CONSIDER THAT THERE IS NO REHEARSAL FOR FRIDAY.

Saturday, January 10th at 1:00 pm. We were going to do a morning and an afternoon rehearsal, but because everything looks so good, I am now planning JUST AN AFTERNOON rehearsal. Meet at 1:00 pm, and we will run through the entire show including the bows (we've never rehearsed those before--this will be the first time doing the bows, so please plan that you'll need to stick around for the entire rehearsal to practice bows at the very end.) Core cast should be in costumes (if they are available). If you are not core cast, you will not be in costume. Doors will open at 12:30 pm to allow the core cast to get into costume. Full cast should arrive at 1:00 pm. I want to be ready to start the show at 1:10 pm.

Monday, January 12th at 4:30 pm.  CORE CAST ONLY: SPEED-THROUGH.

Tuesday, January 13th at 4:30 pm
Run Act One of the play. FULL CAST needs to attend this rehearsal (with the exception of the chefs and Carlotta who have no scenes in Act One).

Wednesday, January 14th at 4:30 pm
Full run through with the FULL CAST.

Thursday, January 15th at 4:30 pm
Full run through with the FULL CAST.

Saturday, January 17th at 10:00 am
This is our last rehearsal before beginning our dress rehearsals. FULL CAST will run through the play at least once during the morning. If needed, FULL CAST will meet again in the afternoon to run through it again. If the afternoon rehearsal is not needed, I will announce that at the morning rehearsal.

Tuesday, January 20th at 6:00 pm
Dress rehearsal with the exception of hair and makeup. Wear your full costume, don't worry if your hair and makeup are perfect. Doors to the theater will open at 5:30 pm. Cast call will be at 6 pm. Dress rehearsal will begin at 6:15 pm.

Wednesday, January 21st at 6:00 pm
Full dress rehearsal. Doors to the theater will open at 5:30 pm. Cast call will be at 6:00. Dress rehearsal will begin at 6:15 pm.

Thursday, January 22nd at 7:00 pm
This is the final dress rehearsal, an we will be running it on the same time schedule as our performances. Core cast can arrive any time after 6:15 pm. Full cast should arrive at 7:00 pm in full costume. Cast call will begin at 7:10 pm. The play will begin at 7:30 pm.

Friday, January 23rd is opening night. Core cast can arrive any time after 6:15 pm. Full cast should arrive at 7:00 pm in full costume. Cast call will begin at 7:10 pm. Ticket sales begin at 7:00 pm in the lobby. Performances are January 23rd, 24th, 26th, 30th, 31st, and February 2nd.
